SCREENING IRANIAN MOVIES IN BENTARA BUDAYA BALI

In the early of this year, Bentara Budaya Bali with Sahaja Community will hold movie screening in two days. The event which will began on Friday, January 22 until Saturday, January 23, is in Bentara Budaya Bali, Jalan By Pass Ida Bagus Mantra 88A.

The Event Coordinator, Ni Made Frischa Aswarini, urges that the films created by Iranian directors that have won numerous awards in International film festivals. At the first day, we will watch “Children of Heaven”, created by Majid Majidi. It is start at 5:30 pm. This film which has ever selected as nominator in an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language tells about the lives of two brothers from a poor family with the struggle of extraordinary life. This effort is illustrated by his brother, Ali, who looking for a shoe for her sister. In addition, on the same day, at 7 pm, there is “Le Silence” directed by Mohsen Makhmalbaf.

The next day would be presented “Turtles Can Fly” directed by Bahman Ghobadi. No less interesting than the previous films, the story of this tragedy genre tells about the life of Agrin (Avaz Latif), who survive in refugee camps in an endless war. Implicitly it also tells the unusual love story between Agrin and Satellite. And the last film is “The Color of Paradise” (Majid Majidi) the story of Muhammad, a blind child who had hardly to try to be accepted by others, especially his father.

"The event is important to be held to introduce and increase young generation interest in film, especially the high quality films. Also expected to to drive the young generation into capable and critical person and could voice their argument through discussion.
